“The project”

MANIFESTO

Preamble

1. “The project” is a web-television touring format based on a fair and constructive competition among five filmmakers and their respective cast and crew. Among the finalist directors, three will be UNDER-35, while for the othertwo places, for the crew and cast there will be no stipulated age limits. The prize up for grabs is the production of a film by the director, the cast and crew of the winner project of the competition.

2. THE IDEOLOGICAL IDENTITY of “The Project” and the film production company program’s, GAC factory, is based on principles of integration between peoples, gender equality and inclusion within the social-work fabric of ethnic minorities and individuals with disabilities. Therefore, every role in Gac Factory is open to applications from all the social classes, regardless of: ethnic origin or nationality, religion or belief, physical or neurological abilities, socio-economic conditions, age, marital status, marriage or cohabitation, sexual orientation or gender identity. In addition, environmental protection, translated into the possibility of constituting “green production” as a practice , is an element of primary importance, placed at the center of all the works by GAC factory.

3. “The project” was born with the desire totell about the people of cinema, the artisans of the cinema, the people who continue to do this profession with passion and the young people who dream of getting started in it. Through the creation of this format we want to tell all the stories that take place behind the camera lens, in the trucks at base camp, in the tailor shop, at the electricians’ table during the lunch break and in all the places where some people gathered to make a film.

4. The itinerant nature of this format is represented by the willingness to organize each new edition of “The project” in a different country, so that we can reach out to stories and People  with different cultural backgrounds, which the previous year we were not able to reach.

5.The initiative might seem to be aimed only to filmmakers, but the desire is to create an international stage that can give a chance to express their talent to young (and not young) authors, actors, cinematographers, cameramen, sound engineers, video and audio editors, producers, hairdressers, make-up artists, set designers and all the people who have anything to do with the reality filmmaking.

The organization will evaluate the request and it is allowed  they will try to send in the help of a team, the head of another crew department.  Is this is not possible for established reasons of incompatibility, additional figures will be convened ex-novo, always drawn from the data-base of professional figures; these people will be offered overnight stays in our facilities only for the night(s) following the work day(s). THE MONEY THAT WILL NOT BE SPENT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECTS WILL BE DONATED TO CHARITY.

The only figures who will receive remuneration in money will be the chief electrician, the production inspector and the location manager, however, their compensation will not appear in any item in the budget because it will be paid by “The project” organization.

16.Within the various crews, the people who will fill the roles of: HEAD ELECTRICIST, PRODUCTION INSPECTOR, LOCATION MANAGER and ORGANIZER will be chosen by the GAC factory. The reason for this decision, as far as the first two roles are concerned, is directly related to the safety parameters that the GAC factory sets as a prerogative for the realization of a risk-free program. As for the organizer and location manager, the motivation concerns the ideological identity of “The project” : we are convinced that the greatest achievement in terms of collaboration between people with different backgrounds is to integrate an indigenous group with strong ties to the places where filmmaking takes place with people from all over the world. The goal is to bring forward innovative and original ideas respecting the culture and traditions of the places where one is privileged to work.

17. The final prize for the winning team is the opportunity to make a feature film sponsored and produced by the GAC factory.

-The subject of the story may be submitted directly by the winning director, who, if He deems necessary, will be assisted by us in the development of the screenplay

-The crew base of the winning film will remain the same one that took part in “The project” , winning the said competition. However they will be complemented by other elements from the other troupes in the competition, who will be deemed worthy of a recognition of the kind, based on the actions and decisions carried out both in professional and in human terms towards  the crew members, the cast and the environments in which they have operated.
